In another tragic case of work pressure, Bajaj Finance's 42-year-old area manager died by suicide in Jhansi city in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.&nbsp;

The man, identified as Tarun Saxena, left a suicide note in which he clearly mentioned the work pressure he faced from his seniors in the past two months because of his targets and how he was threatened with salary deductions, according to reports.

The house help found the man's dead body in the morning on Monday (Sep 30). The man had allegedly locked his wife and two children in a room and then took the drastic step.

<h2>Here's what the Bajaj employee said in his suicide letter</h2>

In the five-page suicide letter, Tarun said that he was facing immense pressure at work because he was not being able to meet the targets.

The man was given the task of collecting EMIs of Bajaj Finance loans but was not able to meet the targets because of several issues.

He was also afraid that he might get fired from his job. He said that he was also repeatedly humiliated by his seniors.

"I am very tense about the future. I have lost my ability to think. I am going," Tarun said. The employee alleged that the company was making them pay the EMIs, which they failed to recover.

"I have not slept for 45 days. I have hardly eaten. I am under a lot of stress. Senior managers are pressuring me to meet targets at any cost or quit," said Tarun.

He further informed the family that he had paid the school fees of the children till year-end and apologised&nbsp;for his actions.

"You all take care of Megha, Yatharth and Pihu. Mummy, Papa, I have never asked for anything, but am doing so now. Please get the second floor built so that my family can stay comfortably," he said in the suicide letter.

The employee also named his seniors in the suicide letter and appealed to his family to file a police complaint against them. "They are responsible for my decision," the employee said.

<h2>Police say&nbsp;'will take action if family files complaint'</h2>

As per reports, Senior police officer Vinod Kumar Gautam said, "The suicide note says his seniors were pressuring him over the targets. If we get a complaint from the family, we will take action."

The death of the Bajaj&nbsp;employee comes at a time when the death of 26-year-old chartered accountant Anna Sebastian Perayil because of work pressure has sparked a nationwide debate.

Bajaj Chetak Electric Review: More than just the revival of an Indian icon?

Rahul Bajaj, former chairman of the Bajaj Group, died in India's western Pune city on Saturday. He was 83.

Bajaj had been admitted to the Ruby Hall Clinic hospital in Pune. He had pneumonia and a heart problem.

Dr Parvez Grant, chief cardiologist and managing trustee of Ruby Hall Clinic, said he was admitted to the hospital for the last one month.

"He died due to age-related and heart- and lung-related ailments," Grant added.&nbsp;

He died around 2.30 pm, the official said. The last rites will be held on Sunday.

Bajaj is survived by two sons, Rajiv Bajaj and Sanjiv Bajaj; and daughter Sunaina Kejriwal.

"It is with deep sorrow that I inform you about the passing away of Shri Rahul Bajaj, husband of the late Rupa Bajaj and father of Rajiv/Deepa, Sanjiv/Shefali and Sunaina/Manish. He passed away on the afternoon of February 12, 2022, in the presence of his closest family members," a statement from Bajaj Group read.

He resigned from his position of non-executive director and chairman at Bajaj Auto on April 30 last year.

Rahul Bajaj was awarded India's third-highest civilian award Padma Bhushan in 2001. Bajaj also served as an MP in Rajya Sabha, India's upper house.

Till February 2021, Rahul Bajaj was ranked 421 on the Forbes list of the world's billionaires with a net worth of USD 8.2 billion.

Reacting to Bajaj's demise, Indian politicians and ministers paid tributes to the celebrated entrepreneur.

Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari said, "My heartfelt tributes to Rahul Bajaj ji, a successful entrepreneur, philanthropist and former chairman of Bajaj. I have had a personal relationship with Padma Bhushan awardee Rahul ji for many years."

Maharashtra Cabinet minister Nawab Malik said, "Grieved to learn about the demise of Rahul Bajaj Ji, chairperson of Bajaj Group. Condolences and strength to his family and close ones."

Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar said he lost a close friend, while the country lost an industrialist, a philanthropist and a lighthouse for young entrepreneurs.&nbsp;

"I am deeply shocked to learn about the sad demise of Padma Bhushan Shri Rahul Bajaj! The grandson of eminent freedom fighter Jamnalal Bajaj brought transformation in society especially in poor and middle-class people with his two-wheel technology - a Bajaj Bike!

“The affordable vehicle increased mobility, eased struggle for getting means of livelihood and became the tool of socio-economic change! We Indians are deeply indebted for his immense contribution to the industry,” Pawar further wrote on Twitter.

Domestic sales of motorcycles fell by 14 per cent to 2.42 lakh units from 2.81 lakh in October last year. But exports rose by 3 per cent to 1.56 lakh units from 1.51 lakh.

For the April to October period, motorcycle sales work out to 13.74 lakh units in the domestic market, down 12 per cent from 15.68 lakh units, and 10.9 lakh units in export markets, up 7 per cent from 10.2 lakh units year-on-year.

In commercial vehicles, domestic sales slipped by 5 per cent to 36,260 units last month from 38,360 in October last year.

Exports too fell by 21 per cent to 28,035 units from 35,354 units.

For the April to October period, domestic sales totalled 2.3 lakh units, down 6 per cent from 2.4 lakh units, while exports dropped by 21 per cent to 1.87 lakh units from 2.38 lakh units year-on-year.
