<p>He came in contact with the agent through social media platforms Facebook and WhatsApp between November 2021 and May 2023.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Local reports mentioned that the accused and the woman were in touch for months. Officers said he also got money in exchange for the information.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Accused was interrogated by the Anti-Terrorism Squad. During the investigation, it was found that the suspect was introduced to a Pakistan based intelligence operative (PIO) through Facebook and WhatsApp between November 2021 and May 2023," the statement said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The suspect chatted with PIO on Facebook, WhatsApp account and was arrested by Indian government," it added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The ATS officers have not revealed details of the information allegedly leaked to the Pakistani agent. Meanwhile, a probe has been launched.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Reports have mentioned that Baikar joined Mazgaon Shipbuilders in 2014. He hails from Poynad in Alibaug, where he completed his schooling from KESNN high school and junior College &amp; fitter trade from ITI Alibaug.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to sources, Kalpesh had been chatting with a woman, who allegedly ensnared him. Then he is said to have shared important information with his social media friends in exchange for money.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A similar case happened in December last year when the Maharashtra ATS arrested 23-year-old Gaurav Patil for allegedly sharing confidential information with a PIO agent. Patil also worked at Mazgaon Dockyard in Mumbai.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Nishant is currently under investigation. The agencies are also trying to ascertain the details that he might have shared with the neighbouring country.</p>

<p>The Defence Research and Development Organisation(DRDO) facility from where he was arrested makes propellents, or fuel, for the BrahMos missile.&nbsp;</p>

<p>BrahMos Aerospace, which has its base near Nagpur, is a joint venture between India and Russia.</p>

<p>In a partial relief to Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, Lt Col Prasad Purohit and six others who face trial under an anti-terror law in the 2008 Malegaon bomb blasts case, the court dropped provisions under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against all the accused.</p>

<p>However, the court said the accused persons will face trial under sections 16 (committing a terror act) and 18 (criminal conspiracy) of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA), and sections 120(b) (punishment of criminal conspiracy), 302 (murder), 307 (attempt to murder) and 326 (intentionally causing harm to others) of the IPC.</p>

<p>Dismissing her applications for discharge, the Special NIA court in its order said that Sadhvi Pragya cannot be exonerated of conspiracy charges as she was aware of the motorcycle was being used for this conspiracy.</p>

<p>The dropping of MCOCA charges is a big relief and we will fight the UAPA charges, said Aparna Purohit, wife of Col. Purohit.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Apart from Sadhvi and Purohit, the accused who will now face trial in the case are: Sudhakar Dwivedi, retired Major Ramesh Upadhyay, Sameer Kulkarni, Sudhakar Chaturvedi and Ajay Rahirkar.</p>

<p>Two accused - Jagdish Mhatre and Rakesh Dhawde - will face trial only under the Arms Act, the court said.</p>
