Canadian entrepreneur and actor Jasmine Mooney, popular for her role in American Pie Presents, said that she was detained for almost two weeks in "inhumane" conditions by the US border authorities over an incomplete visa.&nbsp;
Mooney was detained on March 3 in San Diego, California, as her work visa to the US was reportedly revoked in November 2024 while traveling from Vancouver to Los Angeles, and she was attempting to file a new application.
Mooney was detained at the San Ysidro border crossing between Mexico and San Diego, the busiest land border crossing in the world, her mother, Alexis Eagles, said. &nbsp;
Eagles said that instead of sending Mooney to Canada or asking her to fix her application, the US Customs and Border Protection officers arrested her.

The 35-year-old Canadian citizen Mooney, who had been offered a marketing job with a US-based health and wellness startup, said that what happened next blindsided her.&nbsp;
&ldquo;Every single guard that sees me is like, &lsquo;What are you doing here? I don&rsquo;t understand. You&rsquo;re Canadian. How are you here?&rsquo;,&rdquo; Mooney said in an interview with ABC 10 last week from the Arizona immigration detention centre where she was being held.

The Canadian actor spent three nights in detention, and then she was transferred. Mooney's mother said, "We eventually learned that about 30 people, including Jasmine, were removed from their cells at 3 am and transferred to the San Luis detention centre in Arizona."
She complained that they were housed together in a "single concrete cell with no natural light, fluorescent lights that are never turned off, no mats, no blankets, and limited bathroom facilities.&rdquo;

Every time Mooney was transferred, she was handcuffed and in chains, her mother claimed.&nbsp;
&ldquo;I have never in my life seen anything so inhumane,&rdquo; Mooney told ABC 10.&nbsp;
&ldquo;I was put in a cell, and I had to sleep on a mat with no blanket, no pillow, with an aluminum foil wrapped over my body like a dead body for two and a half days.&rdquo;

"I don’t know what happened to the other $2,000 because I ended up having to work at the LA Zoo as a churro guy, so maybe it was even less than $8,000," the actor added.&nbsp;

Seann William Scott went on to reprise his role in American Pie sequels, including American Pie 2 (2001) and American Wedding (2003). As per the reports, the actor and his co-star Jason Biggs were paid $5 million for 2012’s American Reunion. 
 
Last year, reports came out revealing that a new American Pie movie is in the works. THR reported that the movie will be penned by Insecure actor Sujata Day. No further details have been shared on this.&nbsp;

"Obsessed with raunchy comedies and American Pie is one of my all time faves!" Day wrote in a post shared on X, previously known as Twitter. "So excited to be working on this movie."

The original 1999 teen sex comedy film, written by Adam Herz and directed by Paul Weitz, was a blockbuster. Apart from four films, the series also has a spinoff franchise, American Pie Presents.

In May this year, Scott addressed the possible fifth instalment of the franchise. Scott told Comicbook.com that he may also reprise his iconic role of Stifler. "I just love the character so much," he said before adding, "Comedy is tough, and they have always been tough, but you know, comedies have really changed. But I think, honestly, we have been talking about an idea. I had one and I still have one that we've literally just recently started talking about."

Actress Jennifer Coolidge got "a lot of sexual action" after starring in the 1999 comedy movie ‘American Pie’, in which she played the role of Jeanine Stifler, or "Stifler’s Mom." 
 
In an interview with Variety, Coolidge, 60, discussed the "benefits" of playing a "MILF" in the movie and joked about how she has slept with hundreds of people since playing the part. She told the outlet, "I was so happy for ‘American Pie’ and the MILF thing."
