<p>Chris Ship, the reporter of &nbsp;ITV, announced on his Twitter, ''he Queen has asked that there be no gun salutes to mark her birthday (94th) on Tuesday. This is the first time it has happened in her 68 year reign''.</p>

<p>Gun salutes are a sign of respect for the Queen as it marked a 41-gun salute in Hyde Park by the King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery, which is followed an hour later by a 62-gun salute at the Tower Of London by the Honourable Artillery Company.
