
Britain`s Queen Elizabeth has asked for no gun saluteson her 94th birthday on Tuesday, This is the first such request ever made by the Queen's in her 68-year reign.
Chris Ship, the reporter of ITV, announced on his Twitter, ''he Queen has asked that there be no gun salutes to mark her birthday (94th) on Tuesday. This is the first time it has happened in her 68 year reign''.
As Queen celebrates her birthday on April 21, which she celebrates privately. The day also gets a very public reception as each year it's marked with a gun salute.
Gun salutes are a sign of respect for the Queen as it marked a 41-gun salute in Hyde Park by the King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery, which is followed an hour later by a 62-gun salute at the Tower Of London by the Honourable Artillery Company. Gun salutes are used as traditionally they're a sign of respect.
The Queen's public birthday in June is also celebrated with a gun salutewhich is also cancelled.
