CBS aired a clip of the exchange between Harris and the host on 60 Minutes that aired on October 6. The question was whether the US had any influence over Israel.

Kamala gave a rambling answer which was later described by the Trump camp as a 'word salad'.

"Well Bill, the work that we have done has resulted in a number of movements in that region by Israel that were very much prompted by, or a result of, many things, including our advocacy for what needs to happen in the region," she said.

Oddly, that answer was different from the clip that aired on 60 minutes, where she said, "We are not going to stop pursuing what is necessary for the United States to be clear about where we stand on the need for this war to end."

Trump jumped at the opportunity to tarnish Harris, saying&nbsp;60 Minutes&nbsp;sliced&nbsp;her answers to questions, "which were virtually incoherent, over and over again, some by as many as four times in a single sentence or thought.”

Accusing CBS of making illegal changes to Harris look more presidential, Trump said in a post on Truth Social: “This is a stain on the reputation of 60 Minutes that is not recoverable… It is the very definition of FAKE NEWS! ”

Accusing CBS of 'deceptive editing,' Trump campaign national press secretary Karoline Leavitt called for the full, unedited version of the interview to be released.

"On Sunday, 60 Minutes teased Kamala's highly-anticipated sit-down interview with one of her worst word salads to date, which received significant criticism on social media. During the full interview on Monday evening, the word salad was deceptively edited to lessen Kamala's idiotic response," Leavitt said.&nbsp;

"Why did 60 Minutes choose not to air Kamala's full word salad, and what else did they choose not to air? The American people deserve the full, unedited transcript from Kamala's sit-down interview. We call upon 60 Minutes and CBS to release it. What do they, and Kamala, have to hide?," she asked.

Soon, right-wing media, politicians and commentariat also demanded that CBS release the full transcript. The issue became a full-blown meme on social media.

The New York Post editorial board wrote: "Given how awful Harris looked even after CBS chose to deceive its viewers, this may well be the last serious interview she does before Election Day: The network has a clear duty to the public to share the whole thing."

Writing on X, Republican Senator Lindsey Graham called for addressing the idea that the interview may have been "edited in a favorable way" to help Harris.

A CBS News-YouGov poll showed that Harris was at 51 per cent and&nbsp;Trump at 48 per cent, which is largely unchanged from September.

Kamala Harris interview debacle: Demand grows for full transcript as CBS accused of 'deceptive editing' 

According to reports, US President Donald Trump abruptly cut short a solo interview with CBS News’ 60 Minutes on Tuesday and failed to return for a joint appearance with US Vice President Mike Pence.

The US president reportedly sat down with correspondent Lesley Stahl at the White House as cameras began rolling, however, he apparently told the broadcaster that they already had got material to use.&nbsp;

Trump then took a dig at CBS saying it was “fake and biased” while adding that he was "considering posting" the interview "prior to airtime".

An associate producer on the CBS current affairs TV show '60 Minutes' filed a lawsuit on Tuesday alleging gender discrimination and retaliation by the company after she complained about inappropriate conduct by her boss.

In the complaint, filed in New York State Supreme Court against CBS Broadcasting, Cassandra Vinograd, who is London-based, said she told company executives that her boss, '60 Minutes'&nbsp;producer Michael Gavshon, texted her a photo that made her feel "disgusted, uncomfortable and scared."

Gavshon, 63, said he meant to send the photo to his sister, according to the complaint.

CBS News, which is part of ViacomCBS, said it "plans to vigorously defend against the lawsuit."

"CBS thoroughly and immediately investigated the matter in accordance with its policies," the network said in the statement. "Subsequently, Ms. Vinograd asked to no longer work with Mr&nbsp;Gavshon and CBS has made every reasonable effort to honor this request. CBS News vehemently denies there was any retaliation."

In a statement sent from CBS, Gavshon said he had intended to send the photo to his sister and that he reported the incident and cooperated with a company investigation.

According to the complaint, the CBS human resources department conducted an investigation after Vinograd raised the issue. Human resources advised her to stay home if she was uncomfortable working with Gavshon, and told her she should meet with Gavshon and try to "work through" things, according to the complaint.

After the investigation, Vinograd was stripped of all work responsibilities, according to the complaint.

CBS executives have been the subject of other sexual harassment allegations in recent years. Anchor Charlie Rose, CBS Corp President Leslie Moonves and '60 Minutes'&nbsp;Executive Producer Jeff Fager were all fired from the company or resigned under pressure.

Rose apologized for his "inappropriate behavior." Fager has denied allegations of sexual harassment.

Moonves has denied any wrongdoing and has described his sexual encounters as consensual.

Porn actress Stormy Daniels will on Sunday sit for a highly-anticipated interview that could shed new light on the affair she says she had with Donald Trump a decade before his election as president.

Contrary to its usual practice, CBS has not released excerpts of the interview, which will air Sunday at 7:00 pm (2300 GMT) on the network&#39;s flagship &quot;60 Minutes&quot; program.

Daniels was paid $130,000 by Trump&#39;s personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, as part of a non-disclosure agreement that she signed shortly before the 2016 US presidential election, leading to allegations that the payment amounted to an illicit contribution to Trump&#39;s campaign.

Avenatti filed a lawsuit on behalf of Daniels -- whose real name is Stephanie Clifford -- earlier this month seeking to toss out the confidential settlement.

The suit alleged that Daniels began an &quot;intimate relationship&quot; with Trump in the summer of 2006 that continued well into 2007.

Cohen meanwhile claims that Daniels is liable for at least $20 million for violating the agreement -- $1 million for each time she did so.

The White House has denied any sexual encounter between Trump and Daniels, who has offered to return the $130,000 she received so that she can be free to &quot;speak openly and freely about her prior relationship with the president and the attempts to silence her.&quot;

She is also asking to be allowed to publish text messages, photos and videos relating to the president, Avenatti said in a letter to Cohen.

The Daniels interview comes days after former Playboy model Karen McDougal told CNN that Trump tried to pay her after they had sex.

In a lengthy interview, McDougal said she refused the money and that the two ended up having a months-long affair around the same time as the alleged relationship between Trump and Daniels.

McDougal wants to be released from a $150,000 deal she made in 2016 with American Media Inc, the company that owns the National Enquirer tabloid, an agreement she alleges was aimed at keeping her story under wraps.

Porn actress Stormy Daniels will on Sunday sit for a highly-anticipated interview that could shed new light on the affair she says she had with Donald Trump a decade before his election as president. Contrary to its usual practice, CBS has not released excerpts of the interview, which will air Sunday at 7:00 pm (2300 GMT) on the network's flagship "60 Minutes" program. Daniels has previously spoken about the affair, including in a recent post on Twitter in which she said: "Technically I didn't sleep with the POTUS 12 years ago. There was no sleeping (hehe) and he was just a goofy reality TV star." Her lawyer, Michael Avenatti, has teased the interview, posting a picture on Twitter of a DVD along with the text: "If 'a picture is worth a thousand words,' how many words is this worth????? #60minutes #pleasedenyit." When another Twitter user said that the disc contained a video of a lie detector test Daniels had taken, Avenatti replied: "Nope. Enjoy Sunday and the days that follow..." Daniels was paid $130,000 by Trump's personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, as part of a non-disclosure agreement that she signed shortly before the 2016 US presidential election, leading to allegations that the payment amounted to an illicit contribution to Trump's campaign. Avenatti filed a lawsuit on behalf of Daniels -- whose real name is Stephanie Clifford -- earlier this month seeking to toss out the confidential settlement. The suit alleged that Daniels began an "intimate relationship" with Trump in the summer of 2006 that continued well into 2007. Cohen meanwhile claims that Daniels is liable for at least $20 million for violating the agreement -- $1 million for each time she did so. The White House has denied any sexual encounter between Trump and Daniels, who has offered to return the $130,000 she received so that she can be free to "speak openly and freely about her prior relationship with the president and the attempts to silence her." She is also asking to be allowed to publish text messages, photos and videos relating to the president, Avenatti said in a letter to Cohen. The Daniels interview comes days after former Playboy model Karen McDougal told CNN that Trump tried to pay her after they had sex. In a lengthy interview, McDougal said she refused the money and that the two ended up having a months-long affair around the same time as the alleged relationship between Trump and Daniels. McDougal wants to be released from a $150,000 deal she made in 2016 with American Media Inc, the company that owns the National Enquirer tabloid, an agreement she alleges was aimed at keeping her story under wraps.
