
Indian cricket team's stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma on Tuesday surpassed skipper Virat Kohli to become the highest run scorer for India in the Twenty20 International (T20I).
Rohit achieved this feat during the 2nd T20I against Windies. He had to score 11 runs to surpass Kohli at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee International Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
The Indian opener overtook Kohli's 2,102 runswhile playing his 86th match in the shortest format of the game.
Kohli, who has been rested from the ongoing T20I series had scored 2,102 runs in 62 matches.
Suresh Raina (1,605), MS Dhoni (1,487) and Yuvraj (1,177) are the other batsmen in the list of highest runs scorers in the shortest format of the game for India.
