Lebanon's Ambassador to India Dr Rabie Narsh has said that India can play a "very good role" in the de-escalating the situation in West Asia. Resolution 1701, passed in 2006, aimed to end hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah by calling for Israel's withdrawal from Lebanon and Hezbollah's disarmament south of the Litani River. Ambassador Narsh pointed, "Every item of 1701 we are ready to implement. And there was agreement, from all parties of Lebanon, including Hezbollah."
