Inviting controversies over his comments on the Unnao rape case, Minister of State Human Resources and Development, Satyapal Singh said on Monday "sometimes the allegations are also proven wrong".
He said, " The SIT has submitted its report, strict action will be taken against guilty. I don't know how much is he (Kuldeep Singh Sengar) involved in the case, sometimes allegations are proven wrong also".
The police on Thursday registered an FIR against the alleged accused BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar in connection to the gangrape of a minor girl in Unnao.
The case has been registered against various sections of IPC and provisions of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The MLA has been booked under IPC sections 376 (rape), 366 (kidnapping, abducting or inducing woman to compel her marriage,), 363 (kidnapping) and 506 (criminal intimidation).
Earlier in the day, the government handed over the case to the CBI. Following this an FIR was also registered against the accused MLA.
The MLA has been accused by a teen rape survivor who had earlier tried to immolate herself outside the chief minister's house.
The teen has alleged that she was held captive in a hotel room by the district administrationwith guards surrounding her. She also added that her phone was also taken.
