
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) stated in its most recent weather forecast, that approximately one to two hours of intense rain and thunderstorms could affect parts of New Delhi and neighbouring areas on Friday (March 29) evening.
From 6 pm onwards, gusty wind and isolated rainfall are predicted in places like Delhi, Noida, and Ghaziabad.
According to IMD's forecast, Delhi NCR region will observe light to moderate rain on Friday night, which will turn into heavy rain within few hours. Additionally precipitation and hailstorms may occur in Delhi and the neighboring cities on Friday night.
IMD in a post on X said, "Thunderstorms with light to moderate intensity rain, accompanied by heavy rainfall over isolated areas and gusty winds with speeds of 40-60 Km/h, are expected over and adjoining areas of entire Delhi and NCR (Loni Dehat, Hindon AF Station, Ghaziabad, Indirapuram, Chhapraula, Noida, Dadri, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, Manesar, Ballabhgarh) Sohana, Palwal, Nuh (Haryana) Bhiwari (Rajasthan) during next 2 hours.”
The meteorological department added that, "Hailstorms/Precipitation are likely to occur in a few places in Delhi (Kanjhawala, Mundaka, Jafarpur, Nazafgarh, Deramandi), NCR (Bahadurgarh, Gurugram, Manesar), Sohana (Haryana), and Bhiwari (Rajasthan) within the next 1 hour."
