A television channel got Shashi Tharoor mixed up with Shashi Kapoor who died Monday
Veteran Indian actor Shashi Kapoor died aged 79 Monday after a prolonged illness in Kokilaben hospital, Mumbai.
The news of his demise shocked the industry with friends, fans and celebrities pouring their support tothe family.
While peoplesent their heartfelt messages of condolence, a news channel created a blooper by addressing the wrong name of the deceased on their Twitter profile. Instead of tagging Shashi Kapoor, the news channel's team wrote about Congress politician Shashi Tharoor's death.
Taking to Twitter, Shashi Tharoor explained the confusion.
His post read:'"We're getting condolence calls in the office. Reports of my demise are, if not exaggerated, at least premature. #ShashiKapoor,"

He sent out his condolence too with:"I feel a part of me is gone. A great actor, smart, cosmopolitan, impossibly handsome and w/a name that was often confused w/mine. (My office got two calls from journalists today about my reportedly serious ill-health!) I will miss Shashi Kapoor. Condolences to his family and all his fans,"
And then took it sportingly when people apologised for their factual 'mistake'. He wrote: "Thanks. No problem. Mistakes happen. Glad to be able to crack a smile at a tragic moment."
Shashi Kapoor was the youngest son of late Prithviraj Kapoor and brother of late Raj Kapoor and Shammi Kapoor.
