Ranveer plays the character of Allaudin Khilji in the film. The film has been facing severe opposition from various groups and political leaders over its content.
Previously, on Monday, on the sidelines of IFFI 2017, Ranveer's co-star in the film Shahid Kapoor said, "Our constitution says that you are innocent until proven guilty. Same should be extended to Padmavati, it should not be considered guilty even before it is provided for people to judge it."
