Long battle ahead for Padmavati makers

In a fresh blow to the makers of Padmavati, the Central Board of Film Certification has turned down the application that they had sent seeking to expedite certification process of the movie.

On November 16th, CBFC had sent back the film without certifying it citing 'technical issues' with the film. The film was earlier scheduled to release on December 1, but the release date of the film has been deferred.On Monday, CBFC turned down the plea of Padmavati makers and said that the movie will be reviewed and certified as per set norms of following chronological order of all applications.

On Saturday, CBFC chief Prasoon Joshi had expressed his disappointment after the makers held a private screening of the film for select members of the media without a valid certificate.The film has been facing a lot of opposition from various state governments and Rajput outfits over depicting wrong facts in the film.
