The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Haryana police filed a chargesheet against Honeypreet Insan and 14 other accused in connection with the violence onAugust 25 in Panchkula and Sirsa after Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim was arrested.

The violence was followed after Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim was convicted and sentenced to 20 years for allegedly raping two female disciples.

Honeypreet who claims to be the"adopted daughter"of Dera chief has beencharged withsedition, criminal conspiracy of the Indian Penal code (IPC), along with other eleven accused.

They are also been charged under Sections including 121 (waging, or attempting to wage war, or abetting waging of war, against the government) and 121-A (conspiracy to commit offences) of IPC

Rest of the three have beencharged under section 216 of the IPC (Harbouring offender who has escaped from custody or whose apprehension has been ordered) for giving shelter to Honeypreet when she was on the run, Panchkula Police Commissioner A S Chawla said.

A lookout notice, and later an arrest warrant, was also issued by the Haryana Police against Honeypreet before she was arrested in October.

Honeypreet, whose real name is Priyanka Taneja is currently under judicial remand in the Ambala central jail since October 14 and was arrested by the Haryana police.

During Honeypreet's remand, the police had recovered a mobile phone, a laptop, credit cards and documents of properties and education certificates belonging to her.

According to reports, Honeypreet had travelled with the Dera chief in a helicopter during his airlift from Panchkula to Rohtak's Sunaria jail after his conviction in the rape case, later she went into hiding for 38 days before she was arrested on October 4 from the Zirakpur-Patiala highway.

According to the police, so far more than 150 FIRs with nearly 1,000 Dera followers as accused of attacking security forces and damaging public property have been registered.
