The Tamil Nadu government has filed a contemptpetition against theCentre in the ongoing Cauvery river water issue.

The Supreme Court, in its verdicton the dispute, allotted an additional 14.75 TMC of river water to Karnataka and reduced Tamil Nadu's share from 192 TMC to 177.25 TMC.
States like Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Keralachallenged the 2007 order of the Cauvery Water Dispute Tribunal (CWDT) and refused to Cauvery of their need of water.
The Tamil Nadu government will mention the matter of its recent contempt petitionbefore the Supreme Court on Monday.
Meanwhile, the central government has filed a clarification petition before the Supreme Court pleading to clarify whether it can make any changes in the composition of Cauvery Management Board (CMB). It has also asked for more time from the court to implement the court's verdict on the issue.
The AIADMK party members,on the other hand, have decided to observe fast across the state on April 3 with an aim to urge the government to form the management board.
