Police have registered two separate cases of unnatural death based on complaints from family members. Officials said investigations are underway to determine the reasons behind the incident, including possible health concerns, relationship issues, or emotional distress.
A young techie couple from Telangana has reportedly died by suicide in a tragic sequence of events at their residence in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The 31-year-old woman allegedly jumped off the 17th floor of the residential building after she found her 32-year old husband dead inside the apartment, according to police.
The deceased, identified as Bhanu Chander Reddy Kunta (32), a software engineer from Siddipet in Telangana, died by suicide in his apartment on Monday. His 31-year-old wife, Bibi Shaziya Siraj, an IBM employee, found their room locked and raised an alarm after he did not respond to her repeated knocks, according to a report in NDTV.
With the help of security staff and neighbours, the door was forced open, and Bhanu was found dead inside. Shortly afterwards, Shaziya allegedly jumped from the 17th floor of the same building. Police have registered two separate cases of unnatural death based on complaints from family members. Officials said investigations are underway to determine the reasons behind the incident, including possible health concerns, relationship issues, or emotional distress, while post-mortem reports are awaited.

“After the door was forcibly opened, the husband was found dead in the room,” Kothanur police inspector HR Manjunath said, HT reported. Police added that soon after witnessing the scene, the woman allegedly rushed out and jumped from the 17th floor of the apartment building, leading to her instant death.
“We recovered a suicide note from the husband in which he mentioned depression and marital discord. However, the exact cause of death will be confirmed only after post-mortem examination,” the inspector said. The bodies were handed over to the family members on Tuesday, police said. “The couple were childhood friends and got married in 2024 without informing their family members,” the inspector further said.

“We have registered two separate cases of unnatural death. Prima facie, it appears that the husband died by suicide, and the wife, in a state of shock, took the extreme step shortly after,” the inspector said.
