Bengaluru: Dashcam exposes woman faking accident by jumping in front of car

A video of a woman faking her accident by deliberately jumping in front of the car has gone viral on social media. In a video shared on X, a woman was seen walking in the middle of the road pushing herself sideways towards a car to get hit by it. Thanks to the dashcam that recorded the entire incident and exposed the woman’s deliberate act.

Dashcams recently became popular among motorists as essential safety devices. They provide a visual record of incidents on the road, which can be crucial in accidents, insurance claims or disputes, such as,in the recent case.

An X user by the name of Shonee Kapoor shared the video from his dashcam with the caption," Put a dashcam. You never know when this happens to you. Especially, when it is a lady, if something happens, people will take her side instantly."

The dashcam footage captures a car on a busy road and suddenly, a woman comes in front of the car. The driver slows down; however, the woman throws herself on the bonnet and then pretends to fall on to the ground. The driver screams, “Police, police,” as the woman behaves erratically before leaving the scene.

The video received nearly one million views and several people reacted to the video in the comments and shared their thoughts on it.

“Dashcam is a must in India. You never know what type of an idiot you will run into on the roads,” wrote an X user.

Another posted, “Don't know about now but once this was a well-practised MO of Dharavi-based gangs. They used to run a good extortion racket then.”

A third expressed, “What is she doing here??”
