Bibhav Kumar, accused of assaulting Swati Maliwal, seen with Delhi CM; BJP reacts

Days after Arvind Kejriwal's close aide Bibhav Kumarmisbehaved with Aam Aadmi Party MP Swati Maliwal, he was spotted with the Delhi Chief Minister at the Lucknow airport on Wednesday (May 15).

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh was also seen with the Delhi CM.

A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader from Delhi on Thursday (May 16) posted a fresh photograph of Bibhav Kumar, who allegedly assaulted Swati Maliwal earlier this week, accompanying Arvind Kejriwal and other party leaders at the Lucknow Airport.

Meanwhile, BJP leader Tajinder Bagga condemned Arvind Kejriwal and questioned him about punishing Bibhav Kumar for misbehaving with the AAP MP.

Citing Sanjay Singh's statement that Bibhav Kumar, misbehaved with Maliwal and Arvind Kejriwal directed strict action on the matter, Bagga shared a pos on X saying, "Sanjay Singh ji was saying that you will take strict action against Bibhav but you started making him tour the whole country."

Reacting to Mishra’s post, BJP National Spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla, said it became evident that Arvind Kejriwal was implicated in the assault on AAP's female MP, Swati Maliwal, as the party failed to file an FIR against Bibhav even after 72 hours, despite senior leader Sanjay Singh acknowledging Maliwal's assault.

"Now, the AAP MP is being forced to keep silent or change her story as is evident from statements of her ex-husband Naveen Jaihind and Nitin Tyagi of AAP. Therefore she hasn’t reached out to the police yet," saidPoonawalla.

While a video message on the social media platform, Facebook,claimed danger to Maliwal’s life, saying “anything can happen to her”.

Swati Maliwal assault case

On Monday, AAP's Rajya Sabha MP, Swati Maliwal, alleged that Arvind Kejriwal's close aide assaulted her at the Chief Minister's official residence.

Later, the police stated that they had not received a formal complaint from Maliwal in this regard.

The police said, they had received a PCR call at 9.34 am from a woman who said she had been assaulted at the Delhi Chief Minister's residence.

"After some time, MP madam came to the police station, but she left stating she would give a complaint later," Deputy Commissioner of Police (north) MK Meena told reporters.

The call was from Swati Maliwal's mobile number, informed another officer, stating that she was the one on the other side of the line.
