Taylor Swift makes history! Wins VMAs video of the year, announces new album

Taylor Swift made history at this year'sMTV's annual Video Music Awards. The singer who showed up in a shiny ensemblecovered with silver diamonds, wonthe biggest honour of the night- theVMAs video of the year award for Taylor’s version of'All Too Well'.

With this win, Swift has become the first singer in thehistory of the VMAs to win the top honour three times. Before this, she won theaward in 2015 for 'Bad Blood' and the second time in 2019 for 'You Need To Calm Down.'

Taylor also made sure to make thel win amemorableone. So, during her acceptance speech, Swift surprised fans by announcing a new music album that will be released onOctober 21 this year.

"We wouldn't have been able to make this short film if it weren't for you, the fans," she said during her emotional acceptance speech.

“I thought it would be a fun moment to tell you that my brand new album comes out Oct. 21,” Swift said.

Swift has also made history by becoming the firstartist to win an award in the Best Direction category forthe song “All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version)”

Later, she shared the first poster of her forthcoming album titled 'Midnights'. She tweeted, ''Midnights, the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life, will be out October 21. Meet me at midnight.''
