Irrfan Khan returns to films with 'English Medium', producer Dinesh Vijan confirms with a photo

Just as we told you before, Irrfan Khan is finally back to films as he starts shooting for Dinesh Vijan’s ‘English Medium’ in Udaipur from today.
The upcoming film will be directed by Homi Adajania.
Putting all rumours around Irrfan’s health to rest, Dinesh released a picture from the set with Irrfan, himself, Deepak Dobriyal and DOP Anil Mehta.
The film is a sequel to the hit film ‘Hindi Medium’ that starred Irrfan and Pakistani actress Saba Qamar in the lead roles. The film had Saket Chaudhary helm the project.
‘Hindi Medium’ was one of the top grossers of 2017. The film revolves around the story of a couple played by the actors who aspire to break into the elite society and give their daughter the best education possible. The next film ‘English Medium’ will have a fresh storyline with now the daughter going to the US to pursue higher education.
As per a report in Deccan Chronicle, a source close to the film revealed, “The film will not just address the issues of Hindi medium students in the US but also those of the students from other countries who face trouble fitting into a system where English is the primary spoken language.”
The makers are yet to announce the lead actress to star opposite Irrfan. Apparently, Radhika Madan is playing Irrfan's daughter in the film.
There was a lot of talk around Irrfan Khan’s health as the actor took a sabbatical to get treated in London for his neuroendocrine tumour. He was spotted yesterday in Mumbai as he let the paps click him.
