The chemistry of the main leads had been the talk of the town ever since the trailer of the film was released. However, many are not happy with how the film has turned out. One user wrote, “Wuthering Heights is a futile, stylish, superficial and incredibly dumbified take on the original story. Surprisingly, the only moments I could actually see the characters coming to life were when they were teens. Kudos to Owen Cooper and Charlotte Mellington.”

Wuthering Heights is the only novel by the English author Emily Brontë, initially published in 1847.
