'83' explores lighter moments between Romi and her husband: Deepika Padukone

Ranveer Singh posted this photo of wife Deepika Padukone, filmmaker Kabir Khan and himself on social media.

Real-life lovebirds Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh will be seen on the screen for the first time since they got married in Kabir Khan’s ‘83’ as the latter takes up the role of former Indian cricket team captain Kapil Dev in a story that follows India’s victory in 1983’s Cricket World Cup Tournament.

Speaking about her experience of filing ‘83’ to a leading daily, the actress said, “I’ve always enjoyed playing characters that take a lot out of me, emotionally. Even in 83, there are extreme highs and lows that Romi also goes through in the journey towards Indian cricket team creating history by winning the World Cup.”

“But the film also - albeit briefly - explores lighter moments between Romi and her husband. So, in that sense, you can say that it has been lighter emotionally," she added.

This film will mark the Jodi's fourth collaboration as they have been seen before in Sanjay Leela Bhansali trio of films - RamLeela, Padmaavat and Bajirao Mastani.
