Yash Raj Films has officially revealed the title of its first female-led spy film, which will star Alia Bhatt and Sharvari in lead roles. Hinting at what's in store for the fans, the makers revealed via social media posts that the movie, titled Alpha, is about two girls who are quick, courageous and always the first in every situation. This is a direct attack by YRF at the societal misrepresentation that only men can be alphas.
The title announcement teaser starts with Alia broadening on the title's meaning. In Hindi, she says, "Greek alphabet ka sabse pehla akshar, aur hamari program ka motto. Sabse pehle, sabse tez. Sabse veer. Dhyan se dekho toh har sahar mein ek jungle hein. Aur jungle mein humesha raaj karega… Alpha," which translates to, "The first letter of the Greek alphabet, and the motto of our program. First, fastest and most courageous. If you look carefully, there is a jungle in every city. And the one who will reign in the jungle is Alpha."
While sharing the teaser clip, Alia wrote in the caption, "It’s the time of the #ALPHA.. Girls!" Check it out below!

Reacting to the post, a fan commented, "Super excited for this one. You go girl!" A second user wrote, "Hurricane at box office coming soon!" Meanwhile, a third comment read, "And yes again you will shine."
The film will be directed by Shiv Rawaii, known for his work in Netflix's The Railway Man.
