After a long wait of over four years, Mirzapur 3 has finally arrived! And as expected, it is full of violence, carnage, gore and guns. But the big question is - Did it live up to the fans' expectations? Without Munna bhaiya (played by Divyenndu) and with limited appearance of Kaleen bhaiya (played by Pankaj Tripathi), the third season of the crime-thriller web series has fallen flat, according to early audience reviews on X, formerly Twitter.
"Mirzapur must stop at season 3. Third season is decent but you do get a sense of excess," a fan wrote, with another adding, "Mirzapur Season 3: Worst ever sequel made. Disappointed!! Without Munna bhaiya, the show seems incomplete, boring, and too far stretched." Meanwhile, a third post read, "Mirzapur season 3 runs cool until it turns into a real disappointment. Another GOT sorta ending. Excessive speculation plays a role in how shows try to meet majorly everyone's expectations."
"10+ hrs wasted on one of the worst Season 3 ever. I can't believe it took 4yrs for them to come up with this. Every character which has a little bit of edge is abruptly sidelined in order to prop up unbearable Golu & Guddu. Pathetic," wrote another disappointed fan. "Munna tripathi was carrying Mirzapur Without him #Mirzapur3 feels incomplete," said a fan.
Meanwhile, some fans loved the new season and praised the lead cast for their performances. "Mirzapur Season 3 is Absolute Cinema," a comment read. Another user added, "Mirzapur season 3 is too good. Kalin bhaiya is back and godu pandit also escape from the jail. Loved the performances."
Reacting to the new season, a fan wrote on X, "The climax is good, Kalin bhaiya kills all the Bahubaliuns including Sharad, Guddu escapes from jail and the end scene looks good." "Finished #Mirzapur3. And it was a Guddu Pandit show all the way. The rapid descent into madness was portrayed superbly by @alifazal9," wrote another excited fan.
The web series' ensemble cast also includes Ali Fazal, Shweta Tripathi Sharma, Anjumm Shharma, Rasika Dugal, Harshita Shekhar Gaur, Rajesh Tailing, Sheeba Chadha and Priyanshu Painyuli. It is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar. Gurmmeet Singh and Anand Iyer have helmed the series.
Mirzapur 3 is currently streaming on Prime Video.
