WATCH: Rohit, Suryakumar shake a leg as Team India in celebratory mode upon arrival back home

Team India landed in New Delhi on Thursday morning (July 4) after being stranded in Barbados due to Hurricane Beryl post their emphatic T20 World Cup 2024 triumph. Despite a lengthy flight, Indian players were in joyous mood to celebrate their historic triumph as they brought home the T20 WC title after 17 years. As a result, Indian captain Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav and the likes broke into celebrations upon reaching ITC Maurya, New Delhi.

India left from Barbados on a chartered plane, arranged by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), after much delay due to the Hurricane Beryl.

The Rohit Sharma-led national side ended their 11-year-long ICC title drought with an emphatic win over South Africa in the just-concluded T20 WC final, beating South Africa by 7 runs at the Kensington Oval, Barbados on June 29. The mega event was co-hosted by West Indies and the USA.

With this, India also won their second T20 WC title after 2007, whenMS Dhoni-led Men in Blue beat Pakistan, by 5 runs, in the inaugural edition's finale in Johannesburg.

Notably, the Indian players hasa packed schedule aheadon Thursday upon arrival back home. Rohit-led India will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the national capital before heading to Mumbai, where there is a victory bus parade arranged for fansin the evening.
