The incident took place on Thursday (Nov 24), Berlin-Brandenburg Airport's takeoff and landing runways were shut down because demonstrators were glued to the tarmac, Sky News reported.

According to reports, Last Generation environmental group activists were also&nbsp;seen riding bicycles near the shunting area, stopping all aviation traffic.&nbsp;

The group tweeted pictures on Twitter. The tweet read, "Supporters of the last generation are currently blocking the runway of BER. Some are glued to the asphalt, and others ride their bikes across the shunting area, bringing air traffic to a standstill. Before entering BER, they informed the police."

Former Republican US vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin failed in her bid to make a political comeback, losing the House of Representatives seat in Alaska to Democrat Mary Peltola, for a second time.

Peltola, who had earlier defeated Palin in a special election in August-- necessitated by the death of sitting Representative Dan Young-- secured her full term in Congress.

She is the first Native Alaskan in the House of Representatives.&nbsp;

Palin had quit politics in 2009 after an unsuccessful vice presidential bid 2009. However, the former mayor of Alaska's Wasilla announced her return in a statement released in August

"Public service is a calling, and I would be honoured to represent the men and women of Alaska in Congress, just as Rep. Young did for 49 years," she had said at the time.

Dubai's 100-storey 'hypertower' all set to become world's tallest residential building 

A US military heavy plane was forced to make an emergency landing after it collided with birds after it took off. During the incident, no injuries have been reported so far.

A Federal Aviation Administration representative stated that the collision occurred on Monday (Nov 21) when the US military C-37 plane took off from Chicago Midway International Airport when it collided with the flock.&nbsp;

Shortly after takeoff, when the plane crashed with a flock of birds in the air, video captured a spark emerging from the left engine. Aircrew members exited the plane as soon as it landed.&nbsp;

After her shift was over and she returned home, police officers informed Erickson that her daughter Montana, 17, had died in the accident due to such severe injuries that she couldn't survive&nbsp;them.

Learning this, the mother was shattered.

"The critically injured patient I had just attended to was my own flesh and blood. My only child. My mini me. My daughter, Montana," she wrote to her family and friends.

She expressed her gratitude for their 17 years together, the Guardian reported. &nbsp;

Montana was a talented swimmer who aspired to study law and was able to provide "one last gift" to people in need, her organs, said her mother.

She said, "We’re so happy that our baby girl is living on through others and she has in the wake of this tragedy saved other people. We know it’s what she would have wanted and we are so proud of her and we’re going to miss her very, very much."

Schools across some districts in the capital Beijing buckled down for online classes on Monday after officials asked residents to stay home, while the southern city of Guangzhou ordered a five-day lockdown for its most populous district.

The front-month Brent crude futures spread narrowed sharply last week while WTI flipped into a contango, reflecting dwindling supply concerns.

Meanwhile, tight crude supplies in Europe have eased as refiners have piled up stocks ahead of the Dec. 5 European Union embargo on Russian crude, putting pressure on physical crude markets across Europe, Africa and the United States.

The EU's energy policy chief told Reuters the EU expected to have its regulations completed in time for the introduction of a G7 plan to cap the price of Russian crude on Dec. 5.

RBC Capital analyst Mike Tran said the weak December WTI contract expiration indicated paper market selling rather than true physical market softness.

"Tight global inventories do not support the traditional surplus of barrels rationale for contango," he said in a note.

While the North Sea and West African spot market indicators are far from strong, they are also not suggesting signs of distress, he added.

Diesel markets remained tight, with Europe and the United States competing for barrels. While China nearly doubled its diesel exports in October from a year earlier to 1.06 million tonnes, the volume was well below September's 1.73 million tonnes.

Demand in China, the world's top crude importer, remains bogged down by Covid restrictions while expectations of further interest rate rises elsewhere have elevated the greenback, making dollar-denominated commodities more expensive for investors.
