The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Wednesday announced a strong 30-player ‘behind-closed-doors training group’ who will go into a camp at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton on June 23 ahead of the first Test against West Indies starting July 8.

The group will live, train and prepare on-site at the Ageas Bowl with the players set to participate in a three-day practice match on July 1. After the warm-up match, the squad for the first Test in Southampton would be selected.&nbsp;

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) treasurer Arun Dhumal on Wednesday said that with Australia expressing its inability to host the T20 World Cup, there is nothing much left for the ICC to think about the showpiece tournament.

Cricket Australia chairman Earl Eddings, who is also a member of ICC Board, on Tuesday said that Australia’s chances of hosting the T20 World Cup in October-November is ‘unrealistic’ and that has left the BCCI scratching its head on why the ICC is delaying the announcement of a postponement.&nbsp;

Given the ICC T20 World Cup 2020, which is scheduled to be hosted by Australia in October-November, gets postponed, a window will pop up for the <a href="https://www.wionews.com/topics/ipl">Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020</a> which currently stands indefinitely suspended.&nbsp;

"When the host nation is showing its inability to host the tournament, there is nothing much left for the ICC. I don't know why they are delaying. It's their call, whenever they want to go ahead with the announcement, they can. But sooner the better for world cricket," Arun Dhumal said.

I'd say it's unlikely, while it hasn't been formally called off this year or postponed, trying to get 16 countries into Australia in the current world where most countries are still going through Covid-19 spiking, I think it's unrealistic or would be very, very difficult.

England’s premier ball manufacturer has some advice for bowlers worried about being unable to generate swing due to a ban on the use of saliva to shine the ball: “Carry a cotton towel.”

Polishing one side with sweat and saliva has been used by fast bowlers to alter the aerodynamics of the ball but the International Cricket Council banned the use of saliva this month to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.

Bowlers are still free to use sweat but some pacers are worried about not generating enough swing.

Dilip Jajodia, managing director of British Cricket Balls Ltd, which produces the Dukes balls used in test matches in England, says they need not worry.

“The ball has to be right in the first place. Whether you apply saliva or perspiration or whatever, these are small things that help,” Jajodia told Reuters by telephone.

Those offences were recorded on June 6, 2018, January 16, 2019 and April 26, 2019.&nbsp;

However, Coleman had successfully argued that the first missed case should have been backdated to the first day of the quarter -- April 1, 2018 -- meaning the three failures fell just outside the required 12-month period.

But news that Coleman missed another meeting with testers in December means that his offences in January and April of last year now come into play.

Under World Anti-Doping Agency rules, any combination of three whereabouts failures -- either missing a test or failing to file paperwork on time -- within a 12-month period is deemed a doping offence punishable by a two-year suspension.

Two-year suspensions can be reduced to one year if there are mitigating circumstances.

As football around Europe returns after a long suspension, UEFA is set to announce the format for the latter stages of the Champions League at a key meeting on Wednesday which will also raise the thorny issue of the postponed, pan-continental Euro 2020.
