On Saturday night (April 27), they stood outside the Washington Hilton Hotel in Washington D.C., showing their disagreement with the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. Inside the hotel, members of the press,&nbsp;and politicians were coming together for the event celebrating press freedom. One most striking thing at the protest was a big Palestinian flag hanging down the side of the hotel.

Thirty-seven-year-old Candace Chapman Scott pleaded guilty in federal court to one count of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and one count of interstate transportation of stolen property. She worked at the Arkansas Central Mortuary Services, where part of her job was to transport, cremate, and embalm remains. The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences said that’s where the medical school sent remains of cadavers that had been donated for medical students to examine. The indictment Last year's indictment alleged that Scott approached Pauley in October 2021 and began offering to sell him remains from the medical school that the mortuary was supposed to cremate and return. It alleged that over the next nine months, Scott sold Pauley fetuses, brains, hearts, lungs, genitalia, large pieces of skin, and other body parts. The move&nbsp;comes&nbsp;after the protesters resorted to “virulent anti-Semitic slurs, including ‘Kill the Jews,’ crossed the line,” said the university in a statement, on X.&nbsp;

It added, “We cannot tolerate this kind of hate on our campus.” Meanwhile, local media reported that the students had been preparing for the raid overnight as police had been gathering inside the campuses’ Shillman Hall earlier this morning.&nbsp;

According to the Massachusetts State Police, 102 people were arrested and will face trespassing and disorderly conduct charges.&nbsp;

The police also said those detained are being transferred to Suffolk County House of Correction to be booked and processed.

“What began as a student demonstration two days ago was infiltrated by professional organizers with no affiliation to Northeastern,” said the university.&nbsp;

It also ensured that those who had a valid school ID were released and would face disciplinary proceedings and not legal action, said the school. However, those who “refused to disclose their affiliation were arrested,” it added.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, Northeastern sophomore Alina Caudle told NBC10 Boston that the anti-war protest was peaceful and organised by students.&nbsp;

“It shouldn’t be a partisan issue, it should be simple. We don’t want innocent lives to be lost,” said Caudle.&nbsp;

Towards the north, on the eastern front, the Russian forces were attempting to seize the town of Chasiv Yar, though they had not entered the town, he said.

Officers wrestled Tyson to the ground and handcuffed him. One of them is seen placing a knee on his back near his neck for about 30 seconds.

Tyson can be heard repeatedly saying, "I can't breathe. I can't... get off my neck," as an officer yells "Calm down" and "You're fine" before standing up.

The video next shows Tyson lying motionless, face down on the floor for about six minutes, while officers speak with bar patrons.

The national rail company said on Thursday that the Ukrainian rail infrastructure was targeted by Russian strikes in the eastern Donetsk region, northeastern Kharkiv region and central Cherkasy region.&nbsp;

The current owner of the tanker is registered in Seychelles. The vessel is involved in Russia-related trade, and was sailing from Primorsk, Russia, to Vadinar, India, according to Ambrey.&nbsp;

“The UK remains deeply concerned by allegations of Russian orchestrated malign activity on UK soil, as well as the wider reported pattern of behaviour we are witnessing on the part of the Russian Federation to sponsor such activity on the territory of other, sovereign states,” said the foreign office spokesperson in a statement.&nbsp;

Britain’s Foreign Minister David Cameron said he was “deeply concerned” by the allegations in the case. “We will use the full weight of the criminal justice system to hold anyone found guilty of crimes linked to foreign interference to account,” he said in a post on X.&nbsp;

<h2>About the charges</h2>

In a statement on Friday, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said that it authorised the Metropolitan Police to charge a British man with “conducting hostile activity in the UK in order to benefit a foreign state – namely Russia.”

Dylan Earl, 20 and Jake Reeves, 22 were under investigation after a large fire broke out on an industrial estate in London, which according to the prosecution was started using an accelerant such as petrol.

The investigation, which is being led by Met Police counter-terror officers, also found three other suspects linked to the suspected arson attack and are being held on other charges.

The 20-year-old who has been accused of recruiting others for an arson attack appeared at London’s Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Saturday (Apr 20), 10 days after being arrested under the National Security Act 2023.&nbsp;

Earl, according to court documents, was charged with two offences under the National Security Act over “activity likely to benefit Russia”.

Nick Price, head of the CPS special crime and counter terrorism division, said that Earl “Included in the alleged activity was involvement in the planning of an arson attack on a Ukrainian-linked commercial property in March 2024.”

Paul English, 60, and Nii Mensah, 21, who appeared in court on Monday, and Reeves, who was in court on Friday have been charged with aggravated arson.&nbsp;

The 22-year-old has also been charged with “agreeing to accept a material benefit from a foreign intelligence service,” according to Price.&nbsp;

Another 22-year-old, Dmitrijus Paulauska, and the fifth person linked to the case, has been charged with “having information about terrorist acts,” according to the CPS. All five are next expected to appear in court at the Old Bailey on May 10.

On Friday, former National Enquirer publisher David Pecker was grilled by Trump’s defence. Pecker earlier testified that he worked with Trump’s campaign to suppress allegations of adultery. Trump lawyer Emil Bove tried highlighting discrepancies in his testimony.

Bove questioned whether Trump had actually thanked Pecker for handling negative stories as he claimed in his testimony. The defence raised questions as his statement conflicted with a report by FBI agents who previously interviewed Pecker, which said Trump had not expressed gratitude. But Pecker in his defence claimed that the FBI report itself could be wrong.

"I know what I testified to, and I know what I remember," Pecker told the court, where 12 jurors and six alternates had assembled to hear Trump’s hush money trial. The case revolves around Trump allegedly falsifying business records and making payments to a porn star shortly before the elections to hide his illicit sexual relationship.
