Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's administration has called in the country's private security specialists to assist with the defence ministry's investigation into the hack.

An external contractor has been roped in to monitor the internet to check if any information from the hacked source has been leaked online.

Earlier, the UK government had publicly blamed China for two cyber campaigns that targeted Britain's elections watchdog as well as parliamentarians.&nbsp;

The Russian authorities informed the United States, and the military subsequently reached out to the soldier's relatives.

North Korea later announced that it would expel Travis King, who was returned to the US. King was eventually charged with desertion.

Russia is currently holding a number of Americans in its jails, including corporate security executive Paul Whelan and Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich.

The US government has designated both as wrongfully detained and has been trying to negotiate their release.

A regular welfare check in Oklahoma led to a surprising development in a murder case.&nbsp;

According to officials, a man sitting along the side of an interstate highway near Oklahoma City admitted to the murder of Jennifer Kyli Molloy, a 19-year-old, back in 2016.

Joseph Beck made the confession to a state trooper, who was performing the welfare check on Thursday (May 2) after an onlooker reported seeing a man sitting near an exit off I-40, according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol.&nbsp;

The officer escorted Beck to the Edmond Police Department, the initial entity probing Molloy's death.

After further investigation, the 28-year-old was detained, leading to a charge of first-degree murder.

Documentation reveals that Beck was confined within the Oklahoma County Detention Center on Friday (May 3), with his detention continuing through to Monday (May 6) morning.

Edmond law enforcement informed the station that Beck emerged as the main person of interest in the previously unsolved case after he disclosed specifics about the homicide.

In a conversation with detectives, Beck disclosed that he and Molloy were colleagues and also admitted to having feelings for her, as per KWTV's reports.&nbsp;

"I've been waiting on this for a long time and I never really thought it would happen," he said.

Long Khanh town authorities on Monday (May 6) confirmed that at least 560 people had fallen ill after consuming the banh mi sandwiches from Bang bakery in Long Khanh city on 30 April.

Around 200 people had been discharged since then.

According to local authorities, the bakery, based on Tran Quang Dieu Street, sells about 1,100 of the sandwiches every day.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, the number of cases of suspected food poisoning has gradually risen each day, say local hospitals.

About seven months into the war in Gaza, the hopes for a ceasefire appeared slim as various regional stakeholders met in the Egyptian capital Cairo over the weekend.&nbsp;

The two sides blamed each other for the impasse and the Hamas delegation said it would leave Cairo truce talks on Sunday night to consult with its leadership.&nbsp;

In their second day of talks with Egyptian and Qatari mediators, Hamas maintained that any truce agreement must end the war fully, Palestinian officials said.

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that his country was willing to pause fighting in Gaza in order to secure the release of hostages still being held by Hamas, believed to number more than 130.

"But while Israel has shown willingness, Hamas remains entrenched in its extreme positions, first among them the demand to remove all our forces from the Gaza Strip, end the war, and leave Hamas in power," Netanyahu said.&nbsp;

"Israel cannot accept that."

There have been many instances in the past where India has raised concerns to Canada about the growing sentiment of separatism and the Khalistani threat.

Earlier, India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) had underlined how terrorists were being provided a safe haven abroad, calling for the government of Canada to act upon it.

"Terrorism is being funded and supported by our western neighbour Pakistan, but the issue of safe havens and places to operate are being provided abroad, including in Canada," the then MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi had said.&nbsp;

"We would want the Canadian government to not provide safe havens to terrorists and to take action against those who are facing terrorism charges or send them here to face charges," he added.
