When Donald Trump first hit on Melania, he was already dating someone, reveals wife in her memoir

Former United States President Donald Trump was with another woman when he first hit on his wife, Melania Trump, reveals the former first lady in her memoir, 'Melania'. The memoir was released on October 8.

In the memoir, Melaniareveals that she first met Donaldat a Fashion Week party in 1998, which she was attending with a friend. At that time, hewas present there with “another blonde” woman.

“I saw my friend wave at someone behind me. When I turned around, I noticed a man and an attractive blonde woman approaching us,” she wrote.

When Donald Trump approached her table, Melania recalled how he introduced himself, saying, “Hi, I am Donald Trump.” Melania replied admitting she recognised the name, and she knew he was a businessman or celebrity.

“He put his hand out to shake mine,” wrote Melania.

She explained their interaction was brief but impactful. “His eyes filled with curiosity and interest, and, seizing the opportunity, he took the seat next to mine and started a conversation,” Melaniawrote.

Further Melania wrote how Donald was interested to know about her life in New York, her Slovenian background and her world travels, engaging her in a meaningful dialogue that left a lasting impression.

Despite Donald being on a date at the time when he and Melania first met, there was something unique about his charm, wrote the former first lady.

“From the moment our conversation began, I was captivated by his charm and easygoing nature. There was so much bustling activity around us, but his intent focus on our interaction made me feel like the centre of his world.”

When Donald’s –then-partner stepped away for a moment, he asked for Melania’s phone number right away. But sheinstead asked for hisnumber back.

“‘I’ll give you my number,’ he said, ‘if you promise to call me,’” the memoir notes.

Donald then wrote his number on his business card with a note and handed it over to Melania, as per the memoir.

The two would go on to date on and off before gettingmarriedin 2005. The couplewelcomed their son, Barron, in 2006.

Donald Trump first married Ivana Trump in 1977 and remained married to her until 1990. The couple welcomed three children together – Donald Jr, Ivanka and Eric. Donald then got married to supermodel Marla Maples in 1993 and welcomed their daughter, Tiffany.
