Iran has continued to strike American military bases in the Middle East after US and Israeli forces together launched an air strike on the country on February 28, killing its Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and several other of its top leadership. In latest attack, Iranian missiles have hit a US base in Jordan. For Israeli fighter jets Jordanian skies are the main route to enter Iran.
In a video that has been shared on various social media platforms including X by IRIB (Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting), one can see a missile hitting a target behind what looks like a small mountainous region. The broadcaster claims it is an Iranian missile strike on US base in Jordan.
The authenticity of the video could not be independently verified by WION.
Iran's strike on US military infrastructure
Since Operation Epic Fury began on Feb 28 against Iran by US and Israeli military, Tehran has carried out several strikes on US installation across the Middle East.
On March 27, a drone attack on Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia damaged an US Air Force E-3 Sentry and an airborne warning and control system,
Two weeks earlier, on March 13, five KC-135 Stratotanker refueling aircraft were damaged in Iranian strike.
At least seven U.S. bases across Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the UAE have come under Iranian attack since the war broke out on February 28.
The Iranian strikes have mainly focused on hitting infrastructure that U.S. forces depend on to detect threats, refuel aircraft and direct air operations in the region.
