A tiger escaped from its cage during a circus show in a village in north China's Shanxi Province Saturday afternoon, creating mass panic among crowds before the animal was captured.
Two children were scratched as the tiger ran riot but were later discharged from the hospital, according to local authorities.
The circus troupe was giving a performance at a temple fair in Shengwang Village of Hongtong County when the tiger suddenly broke out of the cage.
The local public security department together with the forestry department are now investigating the case.
