Russia's Vladivostok could be possible host city for Putin-Kim summit

Russia's Vladivostok

Russia's Vladivostok was named as the possible host city for Russia-Noth Korea summit, news agency Reuters reported.

However, due to security reasons, the Russian authorities did not confirm the venue, where President Vladimir Putin will hold the upcoming summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

The summit was announced on Thursday when Kremlin said that Kim has accepted Putin's invitation.

Kim will visit Russia in the second half of April.

This comes after North Korea recently announced that it had tested a new tactical weapon with a "powerful warhead" as denuclearisation talks with Washington appear to stall.

The last summit between a Russian and North Korean head of state came in 2011 when Kim's father Kim Jong Il travelled to Siberia to meet Dmitry Medvedev, then Russia's president.
