Reacting to the Biden administration's decision permitting Ukraine to use the US-supplied long-range missiles for striking inside Russia, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Monday (Nov. 18)that the United States is “throwing oil on the fire” with the decision.
As per Moscow, the decision will escalate tensions and deepen the involvement of Washington in the ongoing conflict.
Peskov said that the Biden administration is trying to escalate the war in Ukraine till they are in power.
“If such a decision has been made, it will usher in a new round of tension,” said Peskov, and added that permission to use Western weapons for striking Russia hint at NATO countries' direct involvement in the war.
Meanwhile, Russian lawmaker Maria Butina said that Biden is endangering global security. "These guys, Biden's administration, is trying to escalate the situation to the maximum while they still have power and are still in office," she said while speaking to Reuters.
She further hoped that President-elect Donald Trump would reverse the decision after coming into office.

"I have a great hope that (Donald) Trump will overcome this decision if this has been made because they are seriously risking the start of World War Three, which is not in anybody's interest," Butina said.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump Jr.also accused the Biden administration of escalating tensions which can lead to "World War III", as his father prepares to come back to the White House in January.
“The Military Industrial Complex seems to want to make sure they get World War 3 going before my father has a chance to create peace and save lives,” wrote Trump Jr on X. “Gotta lock in those $Trillions. Life be damned!!! Imbeciles!” he added.
