Prince William lays wreath at Christchurch Earthquake National Memorial

Prince William laid a wreath at the Christchurch Earthquake National Memorial on Fridaybefore greeting hundreds of well-wishers who had gathered for a glimpse of the royal.

The earthquake struck Christchurch on February 22, 2011, killing 185 people and injuring thousands.

Victims of the earthquake include people from Australia, Canada, China, Ireland, Israel, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Peru, Philippines, Taiwan, Romania, Serbia, Thailand, Turkey, USA and the UK.

The Prince was at the end of a two-day tour of New Zealand to mark Anzac Day and to visit survivors of the Christchurch shooting in which 50 people lost their lives.
