From 1992 to 2012, the purple state had voted Democratic in every presidential election in single digits apart from Barack Obama’s victory in 2008. In 2016, Donald Trump clinched the first Republican presidential victory in Pennsylvania since 1988. However, that glory was lost to Democratic Joe Biden four years later.
