Netanyahu on Iran’s hit list? Viral poster featuring 'Israeli terrorists' fuels speculations

A poster circulating on social media is claiming that Iran has prepared an 'execution list' of 'Israeli terrorists', and it features the names of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Yoav Gallant.

A user named @Revenge_is_near posted on X a poster that indicates Iranian intelligence may target senior Israeli military leadership, if not Netanyahu himself.

However, the Iranian and Israeli governments have not made any comments on these speculations.

WION can’t independently verify the authenticity of the poster.

Along with Netanyahu and Gallant, the poster carries the names and photos of Chief of General Staff Herzi Halevi, his deputy, Amir Baram, and the heads of the Northern, Southern, and Central Command - Major Generals Ori Gordin, Yehuda Fox, and Eliezer Toledani. Military intelligence chief Aharon Haliva’s name also appears on the poster.

The poster appears days after Iran launched a massive missile attack on Israel following killings of the leaders of Hamas, Hezbollah, and the IRGC.

In response, media reports suggest Israel is mulling attacking Iranian nuclear sites and carrying out targeted assassinations. According to some reports, Israel is also looking to execute Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The Times of Israel reported that if genuine, the hit list of Iran mirrors a (pre-attack) list released by Israel last month that said it had eliminated top commanders of the Hezbollah's elite Radwan Force.

Over the last two weeks, Israel has targeted and executed at least eight top Hezbollah leaders, including its chief Hassan Nasrallah.

These strikes indicate Israel might be following ex-Prime Minister Naftali Bennett's 'Octopus Doctrine', which calls for a direct fight with Iran instead of dealing with Hezbollah or Hamas.
