Macron says has 'proof' Assad regime behind Syria chemical attack

Speaking to a television interview France President Emmanuel Macron has admitted to having proof about the Syrian government using chemical weapons on its civilians.

He said that he has "proof" that Bashar Assad's government has attacked the town of Douma with chemical weapons last weekend.

He further added that he was closely working with US officials and will decide on the steps to take when need arises.

He also said that he would intervene once all the necessary information were received.

Macron had saidin February that "France will strike" if chemical weapons are used against the civilians.
