The death toll in China's coronavirus rose to 25, with the number of confirmed cases jumping to 830, the government said on Friday. The increase in numbers came hours after the World Health Organization declared the outbreak as an emergency but stopped short of calling it an epidemic of international concern.

China has suspended public transport in 10 cities and shut down temples. Wuhan, the region with most cases was building a new 1,000-bed hospital to treat those infected.
