
A 29-year-old Indian-origin man was shot dead in a suspected road rage incident in Indiana on Tuesday (July 16), the police said.
Gavin Dasaur was heading back home with his Mexican wife when he was shot dead after an argument at an intersection on Indy city's southeast side.
Dasaur was from Agra, India and had got married toViviana ZaMorajust two weeks back on June 29.
A video of the incident is making rounds on social media. The video shows Dasaur getting out of his car at the intersection and yelling at the driver of the pickup truck.
Dasaur then punched the truck's door while holding the gun. In response, the pickup truck driver shot him.
He was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries during treatment. The victim's widow, Viviana ZaMora, told police, "I held him as he bled out while waiting for the ambulance."
According to the police’s stamen the accused, who has been detained, might have acted in self-defence.
The police spokesperson said, "Upon further investigation and after consultation with the Marion County Prosecutor's Office, that individual was released."
