Donald Trump vows he'll revive Alien Enemies Act during final campaign rally. Here's what it is

Donald Trump held his final rally in Macon, Georgia, on Sunday (Nov 2), where he drew a large crowd to the Atrium Health amphitheatre. Arriving an hour and a half late, Trump sported a black-and-gold "Make America Great Again" cap and stuck to his characteristic themes, including controversial proposals related to immigration and crime.

During the rally, Trump announced his intention to bring back the Alien Enemies Act of 1790.

What is the Alien Enemies Act of 1790?

The Alien Enemies Act of 1790 allows the US president to detain, relocate, or deport non-citizens from a country considered an enemy of the US during wartime. According to the Guardian, it has historically been used to relocate and detain Japanese, Italian, and German Americans during World War II.

Trump also suggested that he would pursue the death penalty for undocumented immigrants convicted of killing Americans.

"The United States is now an occupied country. This is thousands of people all over our towns and cities," he said.

Trump referenced the recent murder of Minelys "Mimi" Zoe Rodriguez-Ramirez in Cornelia, Georgia, claiming that the suspect was in the US illegally. He then brought Rodriguez-Ramirez's mother, Carmen, to the stage.

"I lose my daughter, but I don’t lose my faith," she said, endorsing Trump as "the best choice for the USA".

"I met Donald Trump in person. He's the most wonderful person that I've seen."

Minelys "Mimi" Zoe Rodriguez-Ramirez, a TikToker, was found dead last month. A24-year-old man named Angel DeJesus Rivera-Sanches has been arrested in connection to her abduction and murder.

Trump calls retired military generals 'stupid'

Trump, on Sunday, in another rally, criticised retired military leaders, including former Joint Chiefs of Staff Chair Mark Milley and former Defense Secretary James Mattis calling them "stupid". These remarks come as each of these retired generals has criticised Trump, with Kelly last month describing him as "fascist to the core".
