Conservative women in US say they will have more babies after Trump's victory as '4B' movement gains traction

One such message was shared by Illinois mom Tara Elsas on TikTok

As Democrat-leaning women across the United States vow to ditch ‘love making’ and reproduction with men over Republican Donald Trump’s victory amid concerns about how his presidency would affect their reproductive rights, Conservative women are starting a separate movement of their own: Having more and more babies and ‘spreading the red’. Several female supporters of the Republican party are taking to social media and expressing their desire to have more babies as they believe Trump would fix the country’s cost of living crisis.

One such message was shared by Illinois mom Tara Elsas on TikTok, who wrote, “Me waiting for my husband to get home from the fire dept. to ask if we can have another baby now that we can afford it. Thank you Trump.”

Elsas spoke highly of Trump’s victory to American media outlet New York Post, saying, “It was just a big sigh of relief.”

“[Trump’s] campaign pledged to end the inflation nightmare and he has a plan to do so, which makes a big difference for our family,” she added. Elsas hopes Trump will fulfil his promises to lower gas prices, drill domestically and bring an end to the Russia-Ukraine war.

“All of these things are going to enable us to have another child without the worry that inflation will keep growing, and to give our child the life they deserve,” Elsas said.

While reacting to Elsas’s post, many Conservative women also voiced similar opinions, sharing how they are planning more babies now. “Literally my first text to my husband yesterday morning,” one user commented.

“Now me and my husband debating having a 3rd if trump won,” another wrote.

This comes as many women in the US, after Trump won the 2024 presidential election, took to social media and vowed to stay away from sex and producing children in protest of the Republican candidate’s victory while expressing concerns about how his presidency would affect access to abortion.

Abortion was one of the key issues in the 2024 presidential election as several states across the country passed near-total abortion bans after the US Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022.

The 4B movement is inspired by South Korea, which was launched against gender-based violence in the East Asian nation.
