T-Series, India's largest music label and movie studio, is no longer the world's most-subscribed YouTube channel. Instead, the crown has now been bagged by American YouTuber Jimmy Donaldson, popular as MrBeast. He shared the news on social media, posting a screenshot comparing his subscriber count with that of T-Series.
"After 6 years we have finally avenged Pewdiepie," MrBeast wrote.
MrBeast also mentioned how his channel got the most number of subcribers in a single day on June 1 at 2.1 million.
At the start of 2023, the American YouTuber had thrown his weight behind Swedish YouTuber Pewdiepie and declared his intention to beat the Indian music company.
As of now, the MrBeast YouTube channel boasts 268 million subscribers, 2 million more than those of the T-Series.
US billionaire Elon Musk replied to MrBeast's post on X, writing, "Wow, congrats!"
So far, the post has been viewed by more than 15 million users and liked by half a million.
MrBeast's followers expressed their support for the YouTuber and showered him with congratulatory posts.
"So proud of you Jimmy. Thanks everyone this is the craziest feeling ever," wrote one user.
"I’m literally shaking and crying right now I can’t believe we finally did it," wrote a second.
A third user highlighted how MrBeast is also loved by Indians and they might have contributed to his latest achievement as well.
"It’s all because of Indians are loving him!!! A lot of subs of MrBeast is from India."
