Musk planning to turn Trump into Iron Man? Billionaire proposes flying metal suit after assassination bid

After the failed assassination attempt of United States' former president Donald Trump, Tesla and X CEO Elon Musk has now come up with a bizarre plan of creating an Iron Man-style suit of armour to keep the Republican presidential nominee safe.

Musk shared this idea of making the flying metal suit after Trump faced an assassination attempt on Saturday (Jul13). The Tesla CEO had also alleged facing similar attempts twice in his life.

While addressing a rally in Pennsylvania, bullets were suddenly fired towards Trump which grazed his right ear, killed one person in the crowd and left two others critically injured. The shooter, identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, opened fire during the campaign rally.

While responding to a post on X which said, "You better beef up your security too @elonmusk" after the shooting, Musk said, "Maybe it's time to build that flying metal suit of armour [sic]."

Musk's friend Ian Miles Cheong suggested that the former should 'triple' his protection X, "If they can come for Trump they will also come for you."

"Dangerous times ahead. Two people (separate occasions) have already tried to kill me in the past 8 months. They were arrested with guns about 20 mins drive from Tesla HQ in Texas," wrote Musk, while responding to it.

Musk inspired Iron Man. Now is it happening the other way round?

The man who had written the character of Iron Man, Mark Fergus, said that he was inspired by Elon Musk while sketching the Marvel comic's billionaire philanthropist.

Musk, who also had a brief cameo in Iron Man 2, had earlier also expressed his interest in a Tony Stark-inspired suit and had also met engineer Dylan Lange Edminston who had created his own prototype.

Elon Musk, who is one of the richest people in the world, had also endorsed Trump as his pick for the country's president he shared the endorsement with a video in which there was blood splattered on the face of the presidential nominee as he pumped his fist in response to the attack.

"I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery," Musk wrote on his social media platform X. "The martyr lived," he later wrote.

He also shared Trump's photograph at the event and said, "Last time America had a candidate this tough was Theodore Roosevelt."
