
A police personnelhas been suspended from service on ‘attempt to murder’ charges after he hit a petrol pump employee and was seen driving offwith the person on the car's bonnet when heasked him to pay for fuel.
The accused has been arrested and suspended from service, the police said on Monday (Jul16).
Kannur City police commissioner Ajith Kumar said, “Various sections including attempt to murder were imposed against the accused and he was suspended from the service.”
It is worth mentioning here, that the petrol pump employee, Anil, was attacked when the police driver allegedly tried to leave without paying the amount for the fuel on Sunday evening (Jul15), police said.
The CCTV visuals show, the man hanging to the bonnet of the speeding car as it travelled along a busy highway for nearly one kilometre.

The video went viral on social media platforms.
As the argument escalated between the two, the police driver unexpectedly accelerated, causing the petrol pump employee to be thrown onto the bonnet of the car. The vehicle, with the staff member still on the bonnet, travelled nearly a kilometre along the busy road before stopping.
Anil suffered injuries on his hands and later lodged a complaint with the Town Police.
