<p>US President Donald Trump was in Paris, France, to meet French President Emmanuel Macron on the occassion of Bastille Day. Observers hoped the old allies would improve relations, after Trump reversed Obama&#39;s commitments to the Paris climate accord.</p>

<p>As often happens under this administration, the political substance was overshadowed by the antics of the US President.</p>

<p>President Trump commented on the physical appearance of Macron&#39;s wife. He told her, &quot;You&#39;re in such good shape...beautiful.&quot;</p>

<p>The online response was decidedly critical. The website&nbsp;Slate referred to the &quot;particular grossness&quot; of the comment.&nbsp;</p>
