However, Serbian star Novak Djokovic, at 36, and the 44-year-old Indian legend Rohan Bopanna are defying all odds with their recent successes. The two have proved&nbsp;that age is just a number with their singles and doubles No. 1 crowns in ATP Rankings history.

On Sunday (April 7), Djokovic moved past Roger Federer to become the oldest World No. 1 in ATP Rankings history. On the other hand,&nbsp;Bopanna leads the ATP Doubles Rankings. Thus, the duo got together in a video, shared on ATP&nbsp;Tour's official handle on X, and reflected on being World No. 1s in the&nbsp;last lap of their respective careers.

Djokovic said in the clip, "It's not really balanced. It's not 50-50. He brings more years to the 80 (talking about their total years combined). But I think we're still going strong."

The duo pointed out&nbsp;that&nbsp;"experience prevails" and added that tennis provides a variety of valuable lessons.

Bopanna said, "I think that tennis teaches so many wonderful things. And I think experience wins."

Meanwhile, Djokovic continued, "I’d say experience, but also still being devoted and dedicated to the game every single day. I see him in the gym countless hours, also in the physio a bit more than before. But it's amazing to share the Tour with you for so many years and what an incredible moment to be oldest No. 1 in singles and doubles at the same time."

In a recent exclusive chat with PTI, SKY, as he is often known by his fans, opened up about a lot of things including his success in the shortest format, what he thinks about making his potential red-ball debut against Australia next year and much more.

To be seen and called as world's No. 1 T20 batter, if someone would have told me one year back, I don't know how I would have reacted. When I started playing this format, I wanted to be the best and I worked hard for it.

Surya was last seen during the New Zealand series right after the World Cup and since then he has been on well-deserved rest. With India now scheduled to face Sri Lanka and New Zealand in the white-ball series at home early next year, SKY will be returning to action.

However, going forward he also would like to replicate his white-ball performance in Tests as well if given a chance. As Australia is slated to tour India for the four Tests (that are also part of the WTC cycle) in February next year, Suryakumar will remain in reckoning for a Test call-up.

Medvedev is the first player outside the 'Big Four'&nbsp;of Djokovic, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray to hold the top spot in 18 years, three weeks and six days, since Andy Roddick on 1 February 2004.

The last time there was a new World No. 1 was more than five years ago, when Murray made it there on November 7, 2016.

Medvedev is the third Russian to achieve the feat, joining Yevgeny Kafelnikov and Marat Safin. Kafelnikov spent six weeks atop the ATP Rankings and Safin was in the top spot for nine weeks.

Medvedev, who stands at 198cm, is the tallest player to earn the honour in the history of the ATP Rankings.

World number one Simona Halep's participation in this month's WTA Finals was thrown into doubt after a scan on Tuesday revealed she had suffered a herniated disc in her back.

French Open champion Halep was injured while training at last week's Wuhan Open, where she lost in the second round to Slovakia's Dominika Cibulkova.

Romanian Halep aggravated the problem during her China Open first-round match on Sunday against Ons Jabeur and was forced to retire after losing the first set.

"I had an MRI on my back and found out I have a disc hernia," Halep said on Twitter.

"I will discuss with doctors in the next few days but hope to be back soon and will keep you updated."

Halep, who won her maiden Grand Slam trophy in Paris this year, became the first player to qualify for the season-ending WTA Finals in Singapore from Oct. 21-28.

"I'm lost for words, I don't know what to say," Sharif told Sky Sports. "We've been waiting for this for so long. England are a brilliant side but scoring 371 against them means the world."

The International Cricket Council's decision to shrink the World Cup from 14 teams to 10 had already been heavily criticised long before Scotland and their fellow associate or non-Test nations impressed with the quality of their play in Zimbabwe.

Asked if Scotland had sent a message to the ICC with this win, Sharif replied: "I'm not going to say anything -- they've seen it all today."

'Not the end of the world'

This was an embarrassing reverse for 2019 World Cup hosts England ahead of their upcoming five-match home ODI series against Australia and a reminder of how Eoin Morgan's side have been undone in one-off games, such as last year's Champions Trophy semi-final loss to eventual winners Pakistan in Cardiff.&nbsp

"(Scotland) are a very dangerous side, I thought they played close to their best cricket today and we didn't," said Morgan

"It's not the end of the world for us, it was a really good run out and good to have a practice coming into the series against Australia," he added ahead of a five-match campaign that gets underway at The Oval on Wednesday.

MacLeod, however, ensured a promising start was not wasted and together with George Munsey (55) put on 107 for the fourth wicket.

The 29-year-old former Durham batsman went to a hundred off just 70 balls, his seventh at this level and the first by any Scotland batsman against England.

Jason Roy and Bairstow launched England's reply with a century stand but Bairstow holed out when he might have won the game.

Test skipper Joe Root was carelessly run out and England then lost Morgan and Alex Hales off successive deliveries to be 245 for five.

Ali's 46 threatened to spare England's blushes only for the all-rounder to be undone by a slower delivery from left-arm spinner Mark Watt.

The victory completed a notable double over England for the Sole family.
