The disturbing revelation was detailed by Noem, 52, in her upcoming book – No Going Back: The Truth on What’s Wrong with Politics and How We Move America Forward –&nbsp;a copy of which was obtained by The Guardian.&nbsp;

In her book, the South Dakota governor admitted to killing her dog named Cricket, a “wirehair pointer, about 14 months old”. The female dog, Noem said, had an “aggressive personality”.&nbsp;

According to the Guardian, the book included the story to show her willingness to do anything “difficult, messy and ugly” if it has to be done.&nbsp;

In the memoir, Noem said she had taken Cricket on a hunting trip with older dogs hoping to calm down the wild puppy. However, the 14-month-old dog chased the pheasants while “having the time of her life”.

On their way back, Cricket got out of Noem’s truck while she had stopped to meet a family and&nbsp;killed some of their chickens and bit the governor.&nbsp;

Noem repeatedly apologised to the family and wrote them a check while Cricket, according to her, was “the picture of pure joy”.&nbsp;

“I hated that dog,” she wrote and described Cricket as an “untrainable,” “dangerous,” and “less than worthless…as a hunting dog”.

After she had decided to put the dog down, Noem got her gun and led Cricket to a gravel pit. However, her tale of killing animals did not end there. In her book, she also wrote about killing a male goat, which her family owned, and described it as “nasty and mean”.&nbsp;

She also said that the goat smelled “disgusting, musky, rancid” and chased Noem’s children and knocked them down.

The South Dakota governor killed the nameless goat like she killed her dog after leading it to a gravel pit. However, in this case, the goat survived the first shot forcing Noem to go back to her truck to retrieve another shell.&nbsp;

It was around that time that she reportedly noticed that a nearby construction crew had watched her kill both animals.&nbsp;

“Kennedy looked around confused,” the governor wrote, referring to her daughter, who she asked, “Hey, where’s Cricket?”

After the report, the backlash against the governor was swift and amid the growing criticism, Noem took to X and said, “We love animals, but tough decisions like this happen all the time on a farm.”

She added, “If you want more real, honest, and politically INcorrect stories that’ll have the media gasping, preorder ‘No Going Back’”.&nbsp;

Noem’s post on X has over 14,000 comments, with many calling on her to resign and others calling her a “monster” or questioning why she didn’t just re-home Cricket.&nbsp;

In a Belgian investigation into alleged corruption in the European Parliament linked to Qatar, four suspects have been charged and held in custody, according to prosecutors.

The four were not named by the federal prosecutor's office, but a legal source confirmed to AFP that they included Eva Kaili, a Greek socialist MEP and one of the vice presidents of the parliament.

The prosecutor's office reported that late Saturday, a second MEP's residence was searched.

"Four individuals have been arrested by the Brussels investigating judge who is leading the investigation," the Belgian federal prosecutor's office said in a statement.

"They are charged with participation in a criminal organisation, money laundering and corruption. Two persons have been released by the investigating judge."

Kaili was one of six suspects detained in Brussels on Friday as detectives looked into claims that individuals connected to the World Cup hosts Qatar had been paying bribes to sway EU policy discussions.

The arrests came after raids in Brussels, according to the prosecution, during which $630,000 in cash was found. Mobile phones and computers were also seized by police.

She no longer has the authority to act as vice president of the Brussels and Strasbourg-based European Parliament, although she is still an MEP and is still protected from criminal punishment by law.

However, there is an exemption when a suspect is apprehended while committing a crime.

Kaili was taken before the judge after being stopped by Belgian police for having "bags of cash," the court source claims.

The move also consolidates more of Microsoft's business software efforts under Scott Guthrie, who oversees the fast-growing unit that sells cloud computing services to businesses.

Myerson has been at Microsoft for more than two decades, and his responsibilities had grown significantly through several reorganizations since 2013. He has been supervising the company's products including Surface, Xbox and HoloLens Mixed Reality and services such as Windows and Office.

Microsoft is creating two new engineering teams, with one focusing on how consumers use technology and the other on how businesses use cloud computing and artificial intelligence. Microsoft said that elevates the role of Rajesh Jha, who will lead a team focused on user experience across devices that they encounter at home or work. The move also consolidates more of Microsoft's business software efforts under Scott Guthrie, who oversees the fast-growing unit that sells cloud computing services to businesses. Myerson has been at Microsoft for more than two decades, and his responsibilities had grown significantly through several reorganizations since 2013. He has been supervising the company's products including Surface, Xbox and HoloLens Mixed Reality and services such as Windows and Office. Myerson will be working with Chief Executive Officer Satya Nadella in the coming months to ensure a smooth transition of the leadership changes, Nadella said in an email to all Microsoft employees.

Vice President Hamid Ansari today left for Mongolia leading an Indian delegation to the 11th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) Summit.&nbsp;The two-day ASEM Summit will be held in Ulaanbaatar, capital of Mongolia from tomorrow. 
 
The theme for the Summit is &quot;20 Years of ASEM: Partnership for the Future through Connectivity&quot;.&nbsp;At the Summit, India&#39;s efforts would be inclined towards more successful outcomes and the building of a resilient and multidimensional web of interconnectivity between the two continents - Asia and Europe, officials said ahead of the meeting. 
 
ASEM comprises of 53 entities - 51 countries from Asia and Europe and two regional bodies - the European Union and the ASEAN Secretariat.&nbsp;It represents around 62.3 per cent of the world&#39;s population, 57.2 per cent of the global GDP and almost 60 per cent of the world&#39;s trade. 
 
ASEM is a unique platform that serves to bridge the two continents of Asia and Europe for constructive partnership and exchange, under the three key pillars of political dialogue, economic collaboration and socio-cultural exchanges, the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement. 
 
The 11th ASEM Summit assumes special importance in view of the fact, that 2016 marks the 20th anniversary of the dialogue forum, officials said.&nbsp;Since the Summit is the first ever international event of such stature that Mongolia is hosting, the participation of Vice President Ansari signifies the importance India attaches to its strategic partnership with Mongolia, they said. 
 
Ansari will also hold bilateral meetings with a few other participating leaders on the sidelines of the Summit.

Indian Vice President heads to Mongolia for 11th Asia-Europe Meeting Summit

The Maldives&#39; president appointed a new vice president Wednesday, weeks after his former deputy was convicted of attempting to assassinate him. 
 
President Yameen Abdul Gayoom appointed Abdulla Jihad as vice president. 
 
Jihad, who was previously finance minister, is the third vice president to be appointed by Gayoom since he was elected in October 2013. 
 
Jihad&#39;s predecessor, Ahmed Adeeb, was sacked eight months ago after being accused of trying to assassinate Gayoom by exploding a bomb in his speedboat. Gayoom escaped the blast unhurt but his wife, an aide and a bodyguard were injured. 
 
Adeeb was sentenced to 25 years in prison earlier this month on two counts of terrorism, including the assassination attempt. 
Gayoom&#39;s running mate in 2013, Mohamed Jameel, was also sacked and now lives in exile. 
 
Widely known for its luxurious tourist resorts, Maldives became a multiparty democracy in 2008 after years of autocratic rule. 
 
Human rights groups have accused Gayoom of harassing and jailing political opponents. Those imprisoned since last year include 
former President Mohamed Nasheed, former Defense Minister Mohamed Nazim and opposition party leader Sheik Imran Abdulla. 
Nasheed was allowed medical leave for back surgery earlier this year and traveled to Britain, where he was given asylum.
