A shooting at Virginia State University early Saturday left 5 people injured , according to the university and VSU Police. The campus was immediately put under lockdown but it has now been lifted.&nbsp;The shooting occurred at around 1:30 a.m near the Quad Annexes.&nbsp;"A shooting occurred in the area of the Quad Annexes involving multiple victims, who were transported to area hospitals," VSU Police wrote in a statement posted to X.&nbsp;"Police are on scene and request that you avoid the area. Campus remains on lockdown. Updates to follow," the statement added.&nbsp;The area has been cordoned off and investigation is underway. Authorities have not announced any arrests or identified a suspect yet.&nbsp;However, it said that the shooting involved multiple suspects.&nbsp;The university’s lockdown was later lifted at around 8 am local time after authorities determined it was safe to do so.&nbsp;Virginia State University is a historically Black university located about 24 miles south of Richmond, the state capital.
