<p>American singer Pink will be the recipient of 2017 Vanguard Award, MTV&#39;s equivalent of a lifetime achievement honour for video music, the U.S. cable and satellite television channel said on Tuesday.</p>

<p>The 37-year-old pop star is known in the music world for her powerhouse vocals and acrobatic live shows.</p>

<p>In a statement, Viacom Inc unit confirms that Pink is being recognized for her impact on music, pop culture, fashion and philanthropy for a career spanning 17 years.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Pink will receive the honour at the MTV Video Music Awards show in Los Angeles on Aug. 27, where she will perform her latest single &quot;What About Us.&quot;</p>
